Soundtrack (The late 90s were a weird time.)

Happy first official day of autumn 2016! The “farmer” (just the one, apparently) formally sanctions all things pumpkin spice, starting today at 10:21am. Bring on the football, infinity scarves, colorful foliage, honeycrisp apples, booties, bonfires, chai lattes, quilted jackets, crockpots full of chili, mums, hay bales, and pumpkin everything! It’s fall, y’all!

I know, I know, I just made a big wish list last Thursday, and you’re probably like woman, how many things do you need? Well, I separated out the fall stuff, because today’s Blogtember Challenge prompt is to share your favorite items for the season! I’m always in the mood to shop when the seasons change, and I, just like everyone else, love fall.  Here’s what’s on my list:

Patagonia Better Sweater VestI also love the full-sleeve version of this, but I’m thinking the vest would be really cute over plaid button-downs with jeans and riding boots.

Nest Pumpkin Chai CandleEveryone says this is the best fall pumpkin-scented candle, and I am obsessed with the smell of chai. I got this for my mom for her birthday last year, and now I want one! I just love our apartment smelling like the current season, and fall has some of the very best scents!

Draper James Key FobHonestly, Reese Witherspoon can do no wrong, and how cute is this megaphone key chain for football season?? I love that Draper James is quirky but in such a different way from Kate Spade. I actually have two sets of keys (the fob to get into my garage has to be separate so I can hold it up to the box while the car key is still in the ignition), and neither of them has a key chain right now. My keys are really hard to find in my bag and (God forbid) don’t look cute. I have had my eye out for the right key chains, and I love this in gold and black for Mizzou and Vandy. 🙂

Ted Baker Indego Double-Breasted Princess CoatI did a massive closet clean-out when I moved from Nashville, and I am still occasionally regretting some of the things I donated. Well, I got rid of an old wool coat, and now I’m a working lady without a warm dress coat going into winter. Finding something worth the splurge has been harder than I thought, as I don’t really love the cocoon coats, and I really want something dressy, ladylike, buttoned-but-not-pea, fit and flared, and preferably with a cute collar. This navy lovely fits the bill perfectly and is British to boot. And I also love this, which looks like my old coat.

Off the Shoulder Sweater DressSweater dresses solve all of my problems in the winter. I am a dress girl, and these are cozy, chic, and easy. Just add tights and shoes and you’re done. I love the off the shoulder (but not too far off the shoulder) style of this one!

Volcano Hand LotionMy hands and cuticles get so dry in the winter, and I always love this scent for fall. It smells like Anthropologie, which for some reason is a fall-ish store to me. I would love to have some on my desk to remind me to moisturize.

Bean BootsI honestly can’t believe I don’t already have this fall staple, but for years it has been because I have nearly identical Ralph Lauren duck boots and several pairs of Hunters. Well, the RL boots are fur-lined, even clunkier, and really best reserved for ski resorts and snow days. Then Pippa ate my black Hunters, so now I feel like there is finally a legitimate need for these in my closet.

Berry Nail PolishFall is for deep, berry and wine red nail polish! This Essie shade is divine.

Banana Republic Cranberry Crewneck Sweater DressSee above, as these are all I want to wear to work and church in the winter. I can’t really have too many, because winter is long, and I get so sick of the same ones over and over. This color is so rich!

Too Faced Raspberry La Creme LipstickOf course, I also love all the berry lipsticks in fall. I will even switch out my red for berry during September-November. I read this one was good for redheads, so I would like to pop by Sephora in Clarendon and try it on soon.

Barbour Beadnell Jacket: This is another ultimate staple like the Bean boots that I need in my wardrobe someday. You never get too old for them, and they never go out of style. I have been putting this off because Will wears his so much and wouldn’t want to wear his if I was wearing mine at the same time, but someday we’re just going to have to work out some sort of compromise on that. Bring on the Beadnell! 🙂
