Friday Favorites No. 19: Houston with Haley and a Beautiful Wedding

Image via

Good morning! I’m so glad it’s Friday today. We are finally in town this weekend and planning to enjoy DC and some much-needed time to catch up on life. Then next week my parents get here, and we have a short work week before some sweet family time relaxing at home and doing fun things around DC! I can’t wait!

Did anyone see this supermoon this week? It would startle me on my way home from work throughout the week and was just so amazing and unreal. It looked like I was driving home through a movie set!

We had the best weekend in Houston last weekend (well, Will had a good Saturday night in Houston), and I have lots to share!

Scott and Lindsey’s Gorgeous Wedding!

houston-wedding-5-2

Excuse the cell phone photo, but we went to a beautiful wedding to celebrate Mr. and Mrs. Scott Friedman this past weekend! Scott was on my freshman floor at Wash U and has been a dear friend ever since. He also went to law school with me, and he is just one of the nicest people there is. We are so happy he found Lindsey, who is lovely, and we know they will love married life!

I stayed with Haley on Friday night, and we went out with my cousin James and his girlfriend Taylor, pictures of whom are coming Monday! On Saturday, Haley and I had a girls’ day of walking around Rice, brunching, shopping, mani/pedis, and blow outs. Then Will arrived, and we got ready for our respective weddings (Haley had a different one at the same time!) together at Haley’s apartment!

Needless to say, the decor was out of this world.

Haley and her mom with Spence!

The Berkmans got a puppy!!!! This is Spencer, the sweetest cavapoo there ever was. We had so much fun playing with him that we had to go over to Haley’s parents’ house on Saturday and Sunday to see him and catch up with her mom and dad. There’s nothing like a new puppy.

Touring the Menil

On Sunday, after another great brunch, Haley and I went and toured the Menil Collection, where she works in curation! It was so cool to finally see this place I have heard so much about and see Haley in her element.

Dinner with Erin at Founding Farmers

I wish I had gotten a good pic with Erin, but she was in DC for work last minute, and we got to squeeze in a nice long catch-up dinner! It was such a treat to hear everything about what has been going on since they moved to Charleston, which is a lot, and we can’t wait to visit in the spring. There’s nothing like a marathon heart-to-heart with a good friend to make your week so much better (and this week I had two!).

Junior League Holiday Shops

houston-wedding-6-2

Just a little plug here: if you’re in DC this weekend, come get your Christmas or Hannakah shopping done early at the Junior League Holiday Shops! We’ll be at Dock 5 at Union Market from 8am-8pm tomorrow and 8am-6pm on Sunday. There are lots of great brands and special events, and it all raises money for the DC community to foster literacy, shelter, food, and healthcare for all.

What was up on the Blog this Week?

Well, it was pretty quiet since my plane home from Houston didn’t have the wifi I was counting on, but check out our Friendsgiving celebration!

Have a great weekend!
