Gift Wrapping, Christmas Cards, and a Great Gift Idea from LouLou

This post really embodies the spirit of December 14th, because this is always the time of year where (for better or for worse) the last minute Christmas preparations are in hyperdrive, and I don’t know whether I’m wrapping, addressing or shopping. So today I bring you all three! (Don’t miss the promo code at the bottom!)

Our Christmas Cards

Christmas cards are undoubtedly one of my very favorite things about December, which you know, because I’ve been talking about them on here nonstop. Well, I talk a big game, but I should note that about half of our cards (at least) still aren’t in the mail, so if you’re on our list, and you haven’t gotten one, I didn’t forget you. It’s on its way soon I hope I promise. I usually get bogged down in the addressing phase, and attempts to “multitask” while watching the new Gilmore Girls series don’t help at all.

Our Christmas card garland is growing so nicely we need to make a new row! I just love going to the mailbox every day and seeing all your beautiful photos and updates!

We love using Tiny Prints for our Christmas cards, mostly because I love their designs and sales. This year we went with a really colorful choice! I had several photos to choose from, but when I saw this card design, I knew it was just made for this photo from our trip to Maui.

On the back we still wrote a little summary of our year, and we had to include Pippa!  I don’t know if the summary of our year is crucial, and I may leave it out in the future, but it is fun to write a little update for those we don’t get to stay in touch with as often as we’d like to.

Ta-da!

Gift Wrapping

Oh my gosh, how darling is this Fa-la-la-mingo wrapping paper from Charleston Wrap? We bought this wrapping paper from our cousins for their school fundraiser when we were in North Carolina in September, and oh my gosh, I love it. It made wrapping so fun this year.

Both of these wraps are reversible, too. I have not been known as the world’s best gift wrapper in the past, but this year I got really into it. I went to Target for all the jingle bells, ribbons, tissue paper, gift tags and bows I could possibly use, and I made a morning out of the process on Saturday. It was like Santa’s workshop around here.

This paper is from Target!

LouLou Boxes (with a Promo Code!)

And last,  but certainly not least, I am excited to share with you this awesome last-minute gift idea! I was so lucky when I was volunteering at the Junior League Holiday Shops that I was assigned to the LouLou booth!  The founder and owner (who is so fun) was there, and I had so much fun learning all about how she started one local shop that has blown up with locations all over the DC metro area!

LouLou has the cutest and most affordable accessories, and even a clothing store in Dupont. Their latest offering is the LouLou Box. I’ve been hearing about these box subscription services for years now, and I always thought it sounded like such a fun idea, but I had never tried it! Well, LouLou sent me this box, and it was so exciting to unwrap!

The deal is that you fill out a detailed questionnaire about your style and preferences (do you like gold or silver jewelry? do you not want to receive any watches?). Then, the girls at LouLou carefully curate a box of surprises just for you (or your gift recipient). You can get one or a subscription and cancel anytime, but if you subscribe you get up to 30% off the price of the items inside.

I got the best goodies! First of all, I got that adorable black pom pom hat I had mentioned in my gift guide. Next, I got this awesome triple-zip crossbody, which will be so handy for roaming around DC when you need to travel light. And finally, a cozy blanket scarf!

Your Promo Code: CLASSIC50

To order your LouLou Box for you or as a gift, you can sign up here and use Promo Code: CLASSIC50 for 50% off! The boxes are normally only $39, so this is a fabulous deal!

Whew! Are you feeling the Christmas crazies yet? I think I need to knock the rest of my cards and wrapping out tonight so that I can just enjoy the rest of the season. 🙂

Don’t miss all the other pretty Christmas cards being linked at Victoria Strader and Meet the Shaneyfelts!
