Friday Favorites No. 41: Target Finds for Spring

I’m using this image that I posted last week because we went to Whole Foods again this week, and these flowers were still there, so I’m counting it as current.

We’ve had such a good week, and today it’s so warm and wonderful outside, I just feel like a new person. This spring/summer is going to be so good, friends!

We had lots of little adventures this week starting with finally getting my hair done on Tuesday, which I hadn’t done since (as my hair dresser kindly pointed out) October. Eek. Honestly it’s mainly because I don’t want to give up my Saturday time with Will to do it, and I was so worried about bringing a baby to a hair salon. But Cora Jane must’ve known she needed to be good, because she was a perfect angel just peacefully hanging out in her car seat the whole time, and everyone loved her being there. Here are some other things giving me life this week!

New Couch New Couch New Couch

Guys, we got our LoveSac Sactional! This is not sponsored, but no one has ever been more excited to receive a couch. (Also, “couch” is a weird word when you write it out a bunch of times.) Anyway, some magical FedEx fairy left all these boxes on our porch last Saturday while we were home, and we didn’t even hear him. I opened the door, impatiently awaiting the FedEx truck’s arrival, and this was all here! It did take us about three hours to unbox and set up, but it was fun, and we love the couch. It’s comfortable, rearrangeable, washable, and will be easy to move when we go to our next house.

Parenting Skills Class

We’re super excited about a new parenting class that we started this week at a church in Capitol Hill. It’s taught by two veteran moms (one of whom is a social worker), and we seriously feel like we learned so much just from the first week. We are also excited to get to know the other couples in the class better (several of whom are from our church) and seriously just to have a little “night out” once a week.

Union Market

Our other new love is Union Market. Guys, there are so many delicious restaurants represented in there it makes me nervous just thinking about choosing! I will say that the Al Volo Italian place and Takorean place are both pretty divine. It’s a fun little family outing and great people watching too. There’s parking, so it’s a great after-church option as well.

Target Run Finds

I try never to set foot in Target. I really do, because we all know it’s the easiest place to walk out of with 30 things you didn’t need, and I’m not trying to do that right now. But on Monday we finally tackled our DMV outing, which took essentially all morning, and then I had to leave around lunch and come back after Cora Jane’s afternoon nap. There was a Target around the corner, and after that, I thought we deserved a Target run and Starbucks too. I found this adorable doormat that goes with my yellow wreath (above), obviously I had to buy all the pool floaties and flamingo/pineapple party decorations for our future pool parties, and on that note, this lemon swimsuit for a certain baby lady.

Going Phone-Free with Moment

In the spirit of going old school, which I mentioned last week, I’ve been getting very serious about putting my phone down lately. This week, I used the Moment app to track the time I spent on my phone each day (trying to get it lower each day!) and took the little free course on how to use your phone less. Ideas include storing your phone away in a drawer somewhere, deleting apps you use the most, and going a whole day without taking photos. I also tried memorizing directions to places before I left so I wouldn’t have to use my phone in the car. I still need work, but it’s a journey worth pursuing!

I hope you have a great weekend!
