Friday Favorites No. 45: First Time Trick-or-Treater here!

This is going to be a short and sweet post for a really sweet week until last night when I came down with the stomach flu. 🙁 And yes, there are more photos of my child in a bumblebee costume. But it was her first time trick-or-treating, and I can’t help myself.

Trick-or-Treating 2018!

We probably should have guessed, but we had absolutely no idea our neighborhood is such a Halloween destination! People go all out with decorations and treats and front yard bonfires and adults in lawn chairs. I think the huge percentage of parents out trick-or-treating with their own kids might cut down on the number of candy-giving houses, but oh my, it was like being in an old movie where the neighborhood is just crawling with kids on Halloween. We went with friends, and Victoria never got out of her stroller (there would not have been time to wait for her to walk, and she can’t eat candy anyway), but she was great! I think she really enjoyed just taking the whole scene in. It was like the whole neighborhood had a giant party and was a great opportunity to get to know some neighbors.

A Warm November Afternoon at the Park

Before we got sick and had a very touch and go take-off to our church’s fall retreat, Victoria and I had a lovely November 1st in Arlington! We went for her 15-month check-up with the pediatrician (hard to believe!) and stayed to check out the all-ages park across the street from our old apartment. The weather was so warm, and we had time to kill, so when it started looking rainy we went to the library and did some reading. I always want to remember these simple days with my little girl.
